The Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership and MIAA have been shortlisted for two Public Finance Awards.
The organisations, which last year won the Value and Innovation Award at the National Healthcare Finance Awards, have been shortlisted in the ‘Alternative Service Delivery Model of the Year’ and ‘Excellence in Public Sector Audit Award’ categories.
The successful award entries highlighted how the organisations work together to provide a number of services ‘at scale’ across Cheshire and Merseyside, which reduces unnecessary spending in the system and encourages a culture of collaboration for those within the Partnership. As well as this, MIAA supports the Partnership with ‘back office’ functions and provides advice, leadership support and access to auditing and anti-fraud services.
There are numerous benefits for both organisations for this way of working, as well as partner organisations and the NHS in general. In a relatively short period of time, the Partnership and MIAA have delivered over £120,000 in savings, a standardised rate for assurance and consultancy services, and improved quality of services across Cheshire and Merseyside.
The 2020 Public Finance Awards will take place on Thursday 23rd April in London. To find out more about the awards and to see the shortlist, please visit publicfinanceawards.co.uk.
